Bridget Burns (she/her) is the Executive Director of the Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO). She works at the forefront of global advocacy for gender equality and environmental justice. Her work has enabled hundreds of women and grassroots feminists from Global Majority countries to participate in UN climate change meetings. She led the Women and Gender Constituency (WGC) for over a decade, significantly enhancing women's rights within the UN climate change process, ensuring human rights and gender equality language in the Paris Agreement, supporting the establishment of the first UNFCCC gender action plan and incorporating gender equality language across 70 Convention programs and decisions. At WEDO, Bridget has launched key initiatives like the Gender Climate Tracker (GCT), and the Gender and Environment Data Alliance (GEDA) and the Gender Just Climate Solutions Scale Fund. In 2021, she was recognized by Apolitical as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy.
