Project Manager, Equipop
Jillian Montilla
Jill Montilla (she/her) is a Project Manger with Equipop. In this capacity, she helps manage Equipop's advocacy and movement-building efforts on European foreign policy to advance gender equality. Principally, she supports the advocacy team's engagement with the Global Partner Network for Feminist Foreign Policy, a multi-stakeholder network of government, civil society and philanthropy committed to advancing feminist approaches to foreign policy around the world.
Before joining Equipop, Jill was the Development and Communications Associate of the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative. In this role, she helped advance the organization's fundraising and outreach initiatives, amplifying the efforts of the Collaborative's global and U.S. coalitions. She previously worked at Fòs Feminista as a Policy Research Intern, supporting the global alliance’s evidence-based advocacy on sexual and reproductive health, rights and justice. She provided policy analysis and research support for Fòs Feminista’s reports and accountability tools on topics such as the Global Gag Rule, climate change and the care economy. She was previously a Research Fellow with the Office of the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief and a Principal Investigator and Project Manager with the Gender Studies Department of Sciences Po for an action-research project aimed at enhancing the political participation of young migrant women.
Jill’s experience at the international and regional levels is enhanced by her time as a grassroots anti-racist organizer in France and as NGO CSW/NY’s 2020 Youth Spoken Word Poet. She is also a member of the Global Gag Rule Research Working Group. She holds a Master in Human Rights and an Advanced Certification in Gender Studies from Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs and a Certification in Gender-Sensitive Approaches to Transitional Justice from Ulster University’s Transitional Justice Institute.
