About the event

The 2023 edition of our seminal Defining Feminist Foreign Policy paper series takes a global look at the state of the field and analyzes current opportunities, threats and trends. With progress by more than a dozen governments reviewed, this year’s is our most expansive yet. The conversation will feature key findings and a global trend analysis, with remarks from government officials and civil society partners working to innovate and advance feminist approaches to foreign policy around the world. Featured speakers include:

  • Ambassador Marita Perceval, Government of Argentina

  • Karen Burbach, Head of the Gender Taskforce, Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

  • Yvette Kathurima, Program Manager at The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF)

  • Mabel Bianco, Founder and Executive Director of Fundación para Estudio e Investigación de la Mujer (FEIM)

  • Beth Woroniuk, Senior Policy Advisor, Equality Fund

The event will take place on Friday, September 15th, from 11 a.m.-12.30 p.m. EST at George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs. Virtual participation will be possible via Zoom, with interpretation options in ASL, French and Spanish.
